Panchayat Sakhi Program

Prakriti is implementing Panchayat Sakhi program in 40 gram panchayats in three blocks of Nagpur district since 2018. Panchayat Sakhi program has been launched by Prakriti in the year 2000 , after gaining experience of training thousands of elected women of Gram Panchayats.  This  program was implemented from 2000 till 2012 and then re-launched with the support of R.G. Manudhane Foundation for Excekkance  in 2018. From 2022 the program has implemented in 40 GPs, of Nagpur district

Outcomes Of The Program -

• Enhanced Role of Women in Panchayat Raj Institution. 
• Improved leadership qualities in women PRI members. 
• Increased no.of women in voters list. 
• Clarity that women voters are also members of Gram Sabha.
• Awareness that voters are eligible for elections of local self_governance bodies.
• More proficient and functionally effective Gram Sabha Committee 
• Government of Madhya Pradesh for appointing Panchayat Sakhi im Madhya Pradesh  circulate a  notification 

Output - Prakriti covered 5000 elected women , currently 30 Panchayat Sakhi (friend of Panchayat) are working
